Majettes swim past Century

BISMARCK – The Minot High School girls swimming and diving team defeated Century 69-60 on Tuesday at the Bismarck Aquatic Center.

MHS sophomore Emily Hamel won the 50-meter freestyle and the 100 freestyle and the Majettes placed first in five other events. Hamel swam the 50 freestyle in 25.53 seconds and posted a 56.48 time in the 100 freestyle.

Junior McKenna Brown, senior Sarah Bogenrief and Francesa Walker-Rozo each won their respective events. MHS won both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Josie Gillund, Walker-Rozo, senior Devin Scott and Hamel edged Century by 0.24 seconds in the 200 freestyle rally. Hamel, Walker-Rizo, Scott and Hamel won the 400 freestyle rally in 3:48.64.

The Majettes swim in the Jamestown Invitational at 10 a.m. Saturday.
