Lions, M-L-S advance to District 12 final

MOHALL – The Bishop Ryan volleyball team avenged a regular-season loss to Our Redeemer’s Christian school by beating the Knights 3-1 Monday in the District 12 tournament semifinals at Mohall High School.

The set scores were 20-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15.

Ryan junior middle blocker Gabbie Bohl recorded match highs with 15 kills and five blocks. Senior Anika Rovig posted 17 assists, nine digs and seven kills.

ORCS freshman Morgan Olson flirted with a triple-double, notching 14 kills, 10 digs and nine assists, while eighth-grader Karlee Zablotney had a match-best 33 assists.

The third-seeded Lions (32-6-1) will square off with the top seed and host, Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, at approximately 8 tonight. The No. 2-seeded Knights (27-10-2) face Berthold at 4:30 p.m. in a region-qualifier match. The other region qualifier will feature No. 4 seed Des Lacs-Burlington and seventh-seeded Glenburn at approximately 6:30 p.m.

M-L-S (23-8) was led by Callie Carlson (18 kills), Shania Breckenbury (37 assists) and Skylar Aberle (20 digs) in its 3-1 victory against DL-B.

Brittany Degree pounded 12 kills and McKenzie Larson had 19 digs for the Lakers (12-13-6)
