Virginia Snyder, 73, Roseglen, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Garrison Memorial Hospital in the comfort and embrace of her daughter Marsha’s hand. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Virginia Mae Snyder was born on June 19, 1940, in Turtle Lake, to Fred and Helene (Britton) Volbrecht. She was raised in Velva along with her brother, Loren, and sister, Donna. She graduated from Velva High School.
Virginia married Paul Aanderud in 1958. They had four children, Vicki, Marsha, Deanna, and James. They lived in Velva and Stanley. She and her children later moved to Parshall. In 1969 she married Gerald Eisenzimmer. They had one daughter, Beth, and continued living in Parshall. She later moved to Reno, Nev., where she married Robert Snyder in 1986. They made their home near Roseglen in 1995, where they both helped take care of a family-owned farmstead. Robert died in 2002, and Virginia stayed on the farm until the time of her death.
Virginia was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Roseglen. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, solving crossword puzzles and loved to crochet. She also had two dearly loved cats, Calypso and Sam.
Virginia is survived by: her daughters, Vicki Lujan, Marsha (Todd) Suydam, Beth (Tony) Davis; son, James “Jamie” (Karina) Aanderud; numerous grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Cheryl Ann and Deanna Jean; husband, Robert; brother, Loren; and sister, Donna.
