Stolen vehicle recovery results in drug busts

Minot Police Department officers spotted a stolen vehicle being operated near a mobile home park on Third Street Northwest around 9 p.m. Wednesday and initiated a stop, resulting in the arrest of two people for both the stolen vehicle and drug charges.

Richard Wayne Colvin, 32, was driving the vehicle and Ciera Marie Carr, 21, was the passenger. Both occupants are from Williston.

While searching the vehicle, officers allegedly found “three concealed, loaded handguns, a small amount of marijuana, methamphetamine paraphernalia, various prescription medications” and “a significant amount of methamphetamine.”

Colvin was arrested for six drug-related charges, three counts of possession of a concealed firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and for a hold in Williams County.

Carr was arrested for five drug-related charges, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a concealed firearm in a motor vehicle and three counts of possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
