Legislators want answers on N.D. pipelines
Following the sizable oil spill in September from a Tesoro-owned pipeline near Tioga, State Representative Kenton Onstad of Parshall is left with some questions regarding the integrity and security of such pipelines in the state.
North Dakota’s House minority leader announced in a statement Wednesday that the state’s Democratic House and Senate caucuses will hold a field hearing in Stanley Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mountrail County South Complex.
“Invitations have been sent out to appropriate officials. The purpose of this hearing is to simply get
answers from government and industry, which may be used to develop appropriate policies that will ensure that incidents like this do not happen again,” the release read.
The public is encouraged to attend the proceedings.
