Isabel Kraft, 103, Minot, after a massive stroke, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Trinity Hospital in Minot. Her soul went immediately to Heaven because of her saintly life.
Isabel Katherine Robinson was born July 31, 1910, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Braucher) Robinson, at the Robinson family farm located six miles west of Berthold. She was raised and educated in Berthold, graduating from Berthold High School.
Following high school, she attended Minot State Teachers College, where she received her standard teaching certificate. She then taught school at country schools near Douglas for three years.
Isabel met and later married Christopher J. Kraft on Dec. 3, 1931. They made their home in Minot for two years before moving to Glasgow, Mont., where they lived for four years, and then Drake for four years. In 1943, they moved back to Minot, where she had resided since. Isabel worked for Montgomery Wards, Stevenson’s Clothing Store, and then for Trinity Hospital in the medical records department for 12 years. Chris passed away in October 1983.
While living in Minot, she attended St. Leo’s Catholic Church and later became a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot.
She enjoyed doing needlework, crocheting, reading, playing solitaire, doing puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Isabel’s house was always the place to go if you needed something or to feel loved. She was the epitome of a “Mother,” and was the world’s greatest mother. Isabel was “amazingly beautiful” and attributed that to her Jergens lotion and Ivory soap. She was deeply loved by her family, relatives and many friends.
