Light display: Not this year

Barry and Judy Olson, Minot

For the past several years, our Thanksgiving tradition has been to turn on our animated Christmas light display, about a mile south of the YMCA. It amazes and humbles us to know how many people have been out to enjoy our lights. It’s barely sundown when the cars start arriving at our house, tuning their radios so they can watch the lights “dance” to the music. However, due to the continued sewer line/road construction on 16th Street Southwest, the main road leading to our home, we have decided not to set up our light display this year. They hope to have the road open by Dec. 1, but it’s not a guarantee, of course. We can’t take a chance on a traffic nightmare. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Happy holidays!
