NDSU’s Bohl, Jensen honored by MVFC

North Dakota State University football coach Craig Bohl was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Coach of the Year and Bison quarterback Brock Jensen was named the league’s offensive player of the year on Wednesday.

Voters included MVFC head coaches, sports information directors and media.

Bohl guided top-ranked NDSU to its first undefeated regular season since 1990 with an 11-0 record. The Bison defeated Kansas State in their season opener for the program’s fourth straight win over a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.

Jensen, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior from Waupaca, Wis., completed 67.6 percent of his passes for 2,076 yards and a school-record 26 touchdowns while rushing for 268 yards and five touchdowns. Jensen, the Football Championship Subdivision record-holder with 44 career victories, is NDSU’s all-time leader in pass attempts, completions, yards, TD passes and total offense.
