Passenger dies in alleged DUI crash

WILLISTON Carmen Morales, 63, Williston, died Thursday around 10:30 p.m. as a passenger in a vehicle that collided with a parked flatbed trailer in an RV park about two miles north of Williston. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, the North Dakota Highway Patrol alleges.

Edward Morales, 55, Williston, was driving a 1996 Honda Odyssey through the RV park when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn and collided with the hitch of the 2013 Texline fifth-wheel flatbed trailer. Edward Morales was also injured in the crash and charged with driving under the influence by authorities at the scene.
