PRAISE BAND TO PRESENT CHRISTMAS CONCERT ?The elevenAM Praise Band from Our Savior Lutheran Church, in Minot, will present a Christmas concert, “Hope Was Born This Night,” on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

ULRICH TO BE INSTALLED AS DIACONAL MINISTER IN MINOT CHURCH Tara Ulrich will be installed as a diaconal minister for First Lutheran Church, 120-5th Ave. NW, Minot, during worship services today at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m. She will serve as the director of home and family ministry.

A native of Ashley, Ulrich graduated from the University of Mary, Bismarck, with a degree in communications and from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa, with a master of arts degree in youth, culture and mission.

She was consecrated as a diaconal minister on April 23, 2006, and has spent the past six years serving as director of home and family ministry at Dilworth Lutheran Church in Dilworth, Minn.

CANDLELIGHT CONCERT PLANNED IN TIOGA The sixth annual Christmas Concert by Candlelight will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, Tioga.

Various vocal and instrumental groups will provide the music.

Christmas cookies/desserts with cider and coffee will be served after the concert.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CLUB TO MEET TUESDAY ?Minot Christian Women’s Club will meet Tuesday from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in the Grand Hotel, Minot, for the Christmas luncheon.

Molly Hendrickson and Curt Hiller will provide the music. Delores Langseth, of Harvey, will be the guest speaker. Her talk is titled “From Darkness into Light.”

ADVENT TEA TO BE HELD IN GRANVILLE The annual Advent Tea in First Lutheran Church, Granville, will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The program will feature a new form of worship dance ministry.

Refreshments will be served.

ADVENT PENANCE SERVICES SCHEDULED FOR DEC. 15-18 Advent penance services will be held in Minot Roman Catholic churches Dec. 15-18.

The penance services will be Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. in St. John the Apostle Church, 2600 W. Central Ave.; Dec. 16 at 7 p.m., in St. Therese, Church of the Little Flower, 919-8th St. NW; Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Leo’s Church, 215-1st St. SE; and Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace, 707-16th Ave. SW.

Several priests will be available at each penance service to hear confessions, either face-to-face or in the confessional, after a general time of prayer.
