Lois Rademacher, 85, of the Berthold and Foxholm area, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in her home.
Lois Burner was born on Jan. 3, 1928, a daughter of Frank and Maime (Block) Burner, outside of Grano. She was raised and educated in the Carpio area, graduating from Carpio High School in 1945. Lois furthered her education by attending Minot State Teachers College. She taught school at Roosevelt School in Montana, and in North Dakota in White Ash Township from 1946-1947, Perry Country School from 1948-1949, and at Foxholm School from 1950-1952.
On Nov. 17, 1953, Lois was united in marriage to Arthur Rademacher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Foxholm. They made their home on the farm near Foxholm, where they raised their family and farmed. Arthur passed away on Sept. 21, 2012.
Lois was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Foxholm, where she was active in the ladies guilds and Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was an avid Berthold Bombers fan, a former 4-H leader and a member of the Berthold TOPS club. She enjoyed watching sports, attending games, gardening, birdwatching, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by: children, Susan Rheinschmidt, Minot, Gary (Michelle) Rademacher, Berthold, Janet (Guy Storud) Rademacher, of Palmer, Alaska, Kathy (Wayne) Price, Hiawatha, Iowa, Lisa (Rodney) Eszlinger, of Ashley, Todd Rademacher, Foxholm, Jim (Karla) Rademacher, Langdon, Joel (Karen Holmen) Rademacher, Berthold; 21 grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; sister, Verna (Bud) Harmon, Minot; brother, Dale (Pat) Burner, Carpio; brother-in-law, Walter Rademacher, Berthold; sister-in-law, Darlene (Robert) Berry, Sebeka, Minn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; and sisters, Arlene Norgard and Joyce Pankratz.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.
Graveside service: Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm.
Visitation: Today, Dec. 12, from noon until 4:30 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and from 6 until 7 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Foxholm.
Vigil prayer service: Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 7 p.m., at the church.
