Janice Rae Fouchey, 69, Minot, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Janice was born June 29, 1944, in Minot, to Carl and Helen (Tkachenko) Kabanuk. She was reared and educated in Minot. Janice was once married to Gary Phelps and they had two children, Stacey and Juana. Janice married Floyd Fouchey on June 4, 1971, in Minot. They made their home in Minot where they owned and operated the Today and Yesterday Shop from 1986 until 1998. She especially enjoyed operating the business because of the people she met. Janice was forced to retire after 12 years due to health issues. She had continued to make her home in Minot where she especially enjoyed being a grandma and great-grandma.
Janice especially enjoyed gardening, yard work, flowers, fishing and trips to the casino.
Janice is survived by: her husband, Floyd Fouchey, of Minot; children, Juana (Patrick) Peterson, of Minot, and Stacey Phelps, of Rugby; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert Kabanuk and Bonnie Kabanuk, both of Minot; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice was preceded in death by: her parents and brothers, Raymond and James Kabanuk.
Service: Summer of 2014.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Today, Thursday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 6 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
