Let’s get back to basics
Barbara Bethel, Minot
I found it very interesting that right beside the “Our Opinion” column on Wednesday morning about the voters rejection of the Minot School Board bond issue was Pat Buchanan column about the score of 2012 Program for International Student Assessment.
The United States had fallen way below the score level of countries in the East. He pointed out that money has been thrown at education since 1965. Starting with LBJ through Obama.
Money does not lead to a good education system. Class sizes, bigger classrooms or all the new forms of instruction can lead to that. Let’s get back to basics and education that built this country to be a world leader.
Then again, I am just a senior citizen and not an education expert, as I have been told more than once.
