Students earn recognition

Mary-Beth Gross, Minot

Recently two Minot High School-Magic City Campus students competed in one of three regional Family Career Community Leaders of America Cluster events in Omaha, Neb. They were the only contestants, not only from Minot but from North Dakota and did an excellent job representing us.

Jenny Monson competed in Food Art, creating an owl family standing by a campfire out of three vegetables. McKenzie Turner competed in the Consumer Math challenge. At the awards ceremony it was announced that McKenzie won first place overall in the Omaha math challenge against all other contestants.

This is the first time that Minot High School-Magic City Campus has attended the FCCLA Cluster events. For Minot and the state of North Dakota to win a first place over the nation is an honor for which these ladies should be recognized.

Great job, ladies.
