Road project proposed for New Town
NEW TOWN A reconstruction project is being proposed for a section of N.D. Highway 23 at New Town.
Terri Wilhelm, a spokeswoman for the North Dakota Department of Transportation in Bismarck, said the proposed project is one-half mile long and will consist of the total reconstruction of the roadway of Main Street (N.D. Highway 23) from the east side of the Highway 23/N.D. Highway 1804 (West Avenue) intersection to East Avenue.
“The proposed project is looking at replacement of existing pavement. It is in the initial planning stages,” Wilhelm said.
Earlier, the Transportation Department announced there will be a public input meeting on Jan. 16 in New Town to discuss the proposed improvements. The meeting, using an open house format, will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the New Town Civic Center Auditorium. There will be a formal presentation at 6 p.m.
