Globetrotters changing game with fans’ vote

The Harlem Globetrotters are letting the fans choose what they want to see when the world famous basketball team comes to the Minot State University Dome on April 17 as part of their “Fans Rule” World Tour.

The online voting is now open at harlemglobetrotters.com/rule, where fans can choose between three new game-changing rules they’d like to see: hot hand jersey, make or miss and trick shot challenge.

Hot hand jersey – each team has a jersey they can pass among themselves. The player wearing the jersey will receive double points on made baskets.

Make or miss – the quarter begins with just two players on the court for each team. When a team scores a basket, a teammate is allowed to enter the game. When a team misses, that player must exit the court.

Trick shot challenge – each team is given three challenge flags. Coaches can challenge the other team to make a trick shot. If the team makes the shot, they receive five points. If the team misses the shot, the other team receives five points.

The Globetrotters’ roster includes Special K Daley, Big Easy Lofton, Flight Time Lang, Hi-Lite Bruton and Dizzy Grant, plus female stars TNT Maddox, T-Time Brawner and Sweet J Ekworomadu.

Tickets are on sale now starting at $19. They can be purchased at harlemglobetrotters.com, msudome.com and at the MSU Dome box office.
