Joshua ‘Josh’ Miller
Joshua (Josh) Robert Shaun Miller, 27, was embraced by the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the Abilene Regional Medical Center, Abilene, Texas.
He was born May 5, 1986, to Clyde and Andre’ Miller, Minot. Joshua grew up in Minot climbing trees, sledding and playing with his nieces and nephew. In his youth he enjoyed swimming, gymnastics, music, and Boy Scouts among other things. He especially enjoyed his time camping, hiking, and sitting by the campfires roasting marshmallows. Josh enjoyed participating in numerous International Music Camps near Lake Metigoshe, playing both piano and clarinet. He could be found absorbed in books of most any subject, losing himself in the stories. That may be where many of his later adventures came from as an adult. He attended Little Flower Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in 2004.
Joshua moved to Fargo after high school with his best friend, Brian Woiwode. The summer of 2007 he made his way to DeKalb, Ill., where he made many friends and found love.
Joshua started taking classes at Kishwaukee College, pursuing a degree in electrical technology. Joshua would have graduated this spring.
He continued his love of reading, music and the outdoors into adult life. He loved dancing, skiing, kayaking, hiking, scuba diving, star gazing, kites, RC fliers, and traveling. Put Joshua outside and he was right at home. Playing with his dog “Tank” and pet iguana brought him great joy. He attended Renaissance fairs, Sci-Fi conventions, took cruises and vacations in the Cayman Islands.
Joshua lived, laughed and loved life to the extreme.
Joshua will be missed by: his parents, Andre’ ChampieuxMiller (Dan Caswell), Minot, and Clyde (Kathy) Miller, Casa Grande, Ariz.; sisters, Dawn (Dean) Tiger, Abilene, Texas, and Kimberly (Justin) Pfeilschiefter, Minot; nephew, Zachory Eggers, Minot; nieces, Kayla Salwey, San Antonio, Texas, Madison Pfeilschiefter, Minot, and Hope Eggers, Minot; aunts, Wendy (Dennis) Bress, Carson City, Nev., Mary Linberg, Westport, Pa., Rebecca Nordberg, State College, Pa.; uncle, David (Terri) Champieux, Pasa Robles, Calif.; godmother, Marita Hoffart, Minot; and special friend Freddie Gutierrez, Sweetwater, Texas.
