The Minot Public School Foundation is excited to have been chosen by Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation to participate in the 2014 Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour online fundraising event Feb. 13. Last year, the foundation raised over $7,000 in online donations in one day to help provide Foundation Enrichment Grants, which help teachers in the Minot Public School District with special projects for the students. These grants have helped to fund projects from class field trips to purchasing learning materials for a new course.
One current project is “One School, One Book.” It is a novel program in that children at all grade levels will all be listening to the same book. The benefits of reading aloud are remarkable studies have shown that reading to children helps them to listen better and longer, build bigger vocabularies, understand concepts better, feel positive about both books and learning, and more. The Minot Public School Foundation is pleased to support this and many other activities, which enrich learning.
It is our mission to make the time our students spend at Minot Public Schools even more special than it already is. Please log onto (www.impactgiveback.org) Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, to make a donation of $10 or more and have it matched
