Pins doom Beavers in road loss

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minot State wrestling team suffered its fourth straight loss, falling 30-12 at Minnesota State-Moorhead on Thursday.

The Beavers (1-12 overall, 0-6 Northern Sun) were pinned four times – at 125 pounds, 165, 174 and heavyweight.

Jon Wilson, Ricard Avakovs, Matt Fetterley and Mitchell Eull recorded wins for Minot State.

The Beavers travel to University of Mary tonight.

Knights fall to Stars

BOTTINEAU – The Our Redeemer’s Christian School girls basketball team fell behind early and weren’t able to mount a comeback, dropping a 47-42 decision to Bottineau on Tuesday.

The Knights (8-8) trailed 14-7 after one and 19-17 at halftime.

ORCS freshman guard Morgan Olson led all scorers with 19 and eighth-grader Karlee Zablotney added 17. Stephanie Brenden led the Stars (8-8) with 13 points.

The Knights play Berthold on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the Minot Municipal Auditorium as part of the District 12 Showcase.

Tauros falter in loss to Aberdeen

ABERDEEN – The Minot Minotauros allowed six unanswered goals over the final two periods in a 6-3 loss to Aberdeen on Thursday.

The Tauros (19-23-3) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one on goals by jacob Howie, Jon Lizotte and Troy Degler. The Wings (23-17-3) countered with three goals in the second and three more in the third.

Nine different skaters recorded goals between the two teams.

Brandon Wildung finished with 31 saves in the loss.

The Tauros host Bismarck tonight at 8:05.
