Beavers fall at Bemidji

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Minot State men’s basketball team shot just 25 percent in the second half of an 83-60 loss to Bemidji State on Friday at the BSU Gymnasium.

MSU was outscored 41-23 in the final 20 minutes, hitting just seven field goals. BSU led by as many as 26.

“When you don’t guard well and don’t rebound, it’s frustrating,” MSU coach Matt Murken said in a press release. “Even when we did defend well, it seems like they made plays, little hustle plays, to get a bucket and that can be demoralizing to your team.”

Samuel Johnson led MSU (7-14 overall, 3-14 Northern Sun) with 13 points and E.J. Williams (12) and Dan Yale (11) also finished in double figures.

BSU’s Brock Lutes poured in a game-high 30 points and Zach Noreen and Maxie Rosenbloom chipped in 19 and 12, respectively. BSU (16-5, 13-4) held a 38-20 advantage in points in the paint.

MSU travels to Minnesota Crookston tonight at 6.
