Smoking ads unnecessary

Heidi Tank, Rugby

I have never been a smoker nor do I ever intend to, but I think the Breath Right ND ads are uncalled for. I have never seen commercials that promote under age smoking as those commercials do. I have been wanting to write this for quite some time. The most recent commercial of small, young children gathered around a table full of tobacco products and an adult in the background asking what they liked about the products on the table is terrible. Wouldn’t that be contributing to minors? Who would put their children in a commercial like that?

Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to interview people who have quit smoking and talk about how much better they maybe feel, and how happy their families are that there loved ones chose to quit smoking.

Well, I guess this is my opinion, but I sure hope the Breath Right ND ads start thinking a bit of what they are putting on our TV commercials.
