Upcoming school bond vote in March
Voters in Watford City will go to the polls March 11 to decide whether to approve a $27 million bond issue to pay for construction of a new high school.
Superintendent Steve Holen said taxes would increase $93.87 per year for a $100,000 home and $42.90 per year for one quarter of land in the district.
Public forums will be held at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the high school to provide information on the bond issue.
Holen said the new high school is needed because of the increase in students. Enrollment has doubled in the past three years. Holen said a new high school would also alleviate some of the crowding at the lower grades.
