North Prairie urges frozen water caution

Customers of North Prairie Rural Water District and North Central Rural Water District should consider letting water trickle from their faucets to avoid a freeze in their water lines, according to an alert from North Prairie.

Water temperature is nearing 32 degrees, and frost depth is rapidly nearing seven feet deep in many areas. To prevent the water from freezing, homeowners should allow water to trickle, although caution is advised because trickling water sometimes can lead to frozen sewer service lines. Action should be taken for the next month or until further notice.
