Orville ‘Jimmy’ Heizelman
Orville “Jimmy” Heizelman, 78, Minot, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in a Minot nursing home.
Orville James Heizelman was born on Sept. 23, 1935, a son of Ferdinand and Pauline (Scheuffle) Heizelman, in Minot. He was raised and educated in the Velva and Sawyer area. Jimmy attended the School for the Deaf located in Devils Lake for a time, before returning to the Velva area.
Jimmy enjoyed riding motorcycle, snowmobiling and bowling on the Wii. He was an excellent craftsman, making miniature horse-drawn carriages and carving the leatherwork.
Jimmy is survived by: siblings, Ardis Aasen, Minot, Janice Knippelberg, Oak Harbor, Wash., Ronald (Patricia) Heizelman, Velva, Garry (Gloria) Heizelman, Minot, Judith (Melvin) Bachmeier, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, Tom Aasen and Jack Knippelberg.
Funeral service: Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Burial: In the spring of 2014 at Velva Community Cemetery, Velva.
Visitation: Today, March 7, from 3 until 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
