Wyoming man dies in highway crash near Ray
RAY James Waldhart, 51, Laramie, Wyo., died Wednesday in a 7:45 p.m. crash on U.S. Highway 2 near Ray when he rear-ended a tanker trailer hauled by a semi truck.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Waldhart was traveling east on the highway in a Ford F-650 pickup truck when his vehicle collided with the tanker hauled by a 2007 Kenworth semi truck driven by Samuel William Wing, 30, Salmon, Idaho.
Wing had just made a U-turn using the median and was accelerating in front of Waldhart before the collision.
About 100 barrels of oil production water were spilled on the highway.
