$13 million in grants awarded for Indian housing
North Dakota will receive three awards from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development totaling more than $13 million for Indian housing, said Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D.
The awards include $3.6 million for the Fort Berthold Housing Authority; $2.6 million for Spirit Lake Housing Authority and $7.2 million for the Trenton Indian Housing Authority.
The funds will come from HUD’s Indian Housing Block Grant Program. The grants can be used for housing development, housing services and for crime prevention and safety.
