Lindsey Anderson, 31, Granville, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Lindsey was born on June 2, 1982, a daughter of Tim and Esther (Schimetz) Anderson, in Minot. Lindsey was raised and educated in Devils Lake and graduated from Loveland High School in Colorado in 2001. She furthered her education by attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2010. While in Greeley, Lindsey headed up a coat drive to aid Somalian refugees in 2009.
Following her graduation, she moved with her son, McKie, who was born in 2006, to North Dakota to be closer to family. While in Minot, Lindsey worked for Rehab Services of Minot. In June of 2012, daughter Meelah was born.
Lindsey met Gary Badwound in 2011, in Granville, and they were engaged be married. Together they made their home in Granville, where they raised their family.
She is survived by: children, McKie Anderson and Meelah Badwound; fiance, Gary Badwound, Granville; mother and stepfather, Esther (Anthony) Cole, of Thompson; father and stepmother, Tim (Cindy) Anderson, Granville; siblings, Dylan (Sara) Anderson, of Thompson, Nicole (Erik) Espeseth, Towner, Toniel (Christopher) Beebe, Loveland, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Lindsey was preceded in death by her grandparents Donald and Norma Anderson, and Mike and Marvel Schimetz; uncles, Pete Schimetz, Bruce Beeter and David Vogel; and a cousin, Desiree Vogel.
Funeral service: Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation and prayer service: Visitation Monday, April 7, from 2 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
