Vote today

Minot voters are deciding today the fate of a $39.5 million Minot school bond issue.

The vote is set from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.

Early voters last week totaled 1,426 votes. As of noon, 1,550 people had voted at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.

Voters in Kenmare and the Lewis and Clark school district are also going to the polls today to decide school bond issues.

Voters in the Lewis and Clark school district are voting on a $15 million bond issue that would fund a new high school in Plaza and renovation and addition to the high school in Berthold. The cost to taxpayers would be an additional $225 per year for the owner of a $100,000 home and an additional $450 per year for the owner of a $200,000 home, according to Lorna Hansen, co-business manager for the school district.

In Kenmare, school district residents are voting on a $7.5 million bond issue that would fun construction of a new gymnasium, a five classroom addition and a new vocational agricultural classroom area. The cost to taxpayers would be an additional $150 per year on a $100,000 home or a quarter of land, according to business manager Renae Murphy.
