The Northwest Association of Horticulture meets at 7 p.m. at the Minot city greenhouses behind Roosevelt Park. Horticulturist Steve Wharton will conduct a tour of the new greenhouses with meeting to follow. All meetings are informal and held on the second Thursday of the month. All are welcome.

The Lord’s Cupboard Welcome Table food pantry: Fridays, 2 to 5 p.m., at 7-1st St. SE. The food pantry is also available Mondays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Wednesdays, 1 to 4 p.m., at 103-14th Ave. SW.

“Surrey Fish-Fry Friday” will be held at the Surrey Activity Center from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Fish, scalloped potatoes, corn, French bread, dessert and coffee/ lemonade will be served. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 eat free. An Easter egg hunt will also be held on Saturday at 1 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The 31st annual Gala Dinner and Auction will commemorate Minot State University’s Centennial on April 25 at Minot’s Holiday Inn-Riverside. The social and auction preview begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner is served at 6:45 p.m. Net proceeds help fund scholarships and programs sponsored by the Alumni Association. Successful bidders in the silent auction may win an Irish dinner for eight and artwork by Floyd Fairweather, professor emeritus. Other signature items include Disney World passes, handcrafted items from vintage McFarland drapery fabric, sports memorabilia and furniture. The $50 ticket includes a gourmet dinner, music and elegant atmosphere. Attire for this event is semi-formal. For tickets, call 858-3234, as this event has sold out in the past.

Minot Cub Scouts in Pack 404 will be holding a Scouting for Food Fill the Trailer event from April 20-24. Boys will be collecting food all week from their families and friends, and on Thursday will break into teams and canvass the neighborhood and collect food. A trailer will be parked outside of Perkett School, and the goal is to fill the entire trailer with food for those in need. A Friday celebration at Perkett will he held, with ice cream for all of the grades.

The parents of the Parshall High School senior class are hosting an after-prom party on Saturday for students attending the prom and all Parshall High School students in grades 9-12 who want to join the fun.
