Motorcyclist dies in accident
WILLISTON David Mecham, 34, Williston, died in a collision with the rear of a trailer attached to a semi-truck at the junction of West Front Street and U.S. Highway 85 just west of Williston Saturday at 11:40 p.m.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Mecham was riding a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on West Front Street when he crashed into the trailer attached to a 2001 Kenworth driven by Steven Tarrell, 61, Blaisdell, which was parked at a construction site near the junction waiting to off load dirt.
Mecham was pronounced dead at the scene and his motorcycle was totaled. The trailer he crashed into sustained an estimated $1,000 in damage.
