MSU women’s golf takes 10th at NSIC Championship
MORTON, Minn. – Minot State women’s golf finished 10th at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship with 1,507 strokes following Sunday’s final round at Dakotah Ridge Golf Course.
Top-seeded Augustana finished 33 shots ahead of second-place Concordia-St. Paul, giving the Vikings their fifth straight NSIC title. Minnesota State-Mankato (1,358), Upper Iowa (1,384) and St. Cloud State (1,416) rounded out the top five.
Freshman Kayla Barke led the way for the Beavers, finishing 22nd overall with a four-round score of 356. Barke was followed by teammates Rebecca Heintz (33rd, 374), Danielle Foster (40th, 386), Mackenzie Nagel (42nd, 397) and Kayla Palczewski (43rd, 399).
“It was tough to score today, but the girls fought through the weather,” MSU coach Whitney Aberle said in a press release. “We wanted to move up, but that wasn’t the case Sunday. We played a good tournament and have a good base to build on heading into next season.”
