Children’s choirs present concert

The Western Plains Children’s Choirs will present their Spring Tea fundraiser concert on Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Auditorium on the campus of Minot State University.

The concert, “How Can I Keep From Singing,” will feature folk and popular music. The Western Plains Junior Choir, the Western Plains Children’s Choir and the Western Plains Youth Ensemble will each share individual performances as well as sing together for the concert opener, “How Can I Keep From Singing,” and the traditional closer, “One Small Voice.”

College students Alyssa Tonneson, Kate Dalbey, Jasmine Massingill, Ashley Hope, Courtney Zander and Erin Kampen will accompany the children. Directors are Stephanie Otto, Rebecca Petrik, and Laurel Livingston.

Admission is $5, and funds will go to support children who need scholarships and tour expenses. Children 5 and under are free.

A silent auction will also be featured, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Bars and coffee/juice will be sold during both intermissions.
