ANNUAL SPRING FLING SET FOR TODAY IN MINOT CHURCH The annual spring fling at Faith United Methodist Church, 5900 U.S. Highway 83 N., will be today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

The event will include lunch and an “All Dolled Up” program.

There will be unique dolls on display, a doll-making demonstration, music, a silent auction and door prizes.

Tickets, which cost $15, will be available at the door.

LOCAL PASTOR TO BE HONORED ON MAY 11 The Rev. Janet Hernes Mathistad, pastor of Beth-any Lutheran Church, in Minot, will be honored May 11 for her many years in parish ministry.

She is a graduate of Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, and Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. She began her ministry 25 years ago serving Our Savior Lutheran Church, in Max, and has served Bethany Lutheran and Deering Lutheran congregations for the past 20 years.

Worship services are at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. during the fellowship time.

The church is located at 215-3rd Ave. SE.

MINOT CHURCH TO HOST CONCERT BY HIGH VALLEY New Life Lutheran Church, of Minot, will host a concert by High Valley on May 10 at 7 p.m. in the church at 710-46th Ave. NE. The concert is part of the group’s “Faith, Family and Country” acoustic tour.

Brad Rempel and Curtis Rempel, brothers who made their Grand Ole Opry debut last January, have recently been on tour with Ricky Skaggs. A four-piece band accompanies them.

A freewill offering will be received.

DATE SET FOR MOTHERS, OTHERS LUNCHEON “Hats off to Moms!” is the theme of the annual Mothers and Others salad luncheon on May 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1800 Hiawatha St., Minot.

The speaker will be the Rev. Janet Hernes Mathistad of Bethany Lutheran Church, in Minot.

There will be special music, door prizes and a freewill offering. Women are asked to bring a salad to share (any kind), wear a hat (any kind), and bring a friend (any kind).
