Minot’s city attorney fired on Friday
The City of Minot will be seeking a new city attorney. Colleen Auer, who started work last month, was fired on Friday.
Jim Hatlelid, City Council president, confirmed that Auer was let go Friday afternoon for insubordination. He said Auer did not get along with acting City Manager Cindy Hemphill. Hemphill was Auer’s supervisor as well as other city employees.
Auer, of Scottsdale, Ariz., assumed the city attorney position previously held by John Van Grinsven who retired in January.
Auer accepted the Minot city attorney position earlier this year and was approved by the City Council.
Hatlelid said the city will be conducting a search for a new city attorney.
