MHS’s Rickards earns $2,500 National Merit Scholarship

Chloe Rickards, a senior at Minot High School-Magic City Campus, has received a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship funded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Rickards lives at Minot Air Force Base and plans to pursue a career in bioengineering.

Scholarship winners are chosen based on their academic record, scores from two standardized tests, contributions and leadership in school and community activities, an essay written by the scholarship recipient, and a recommendation written by a high school official.

National Merit Scholarships are funded by individual colleges, individual corporations or by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation itself.
