Irene Krebsbach

Irene Krebsbach, 88, Minot, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Irene Marie Weishaar was born April 16, 1926, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Weishaar, in Benedict. In 1927, the family moved to the Weishaar family farm near Benedict. She received her education in the Benedict School District. In 1946, she moved to Minot, where she worked in such places as Ellison’s, Trinity Hospital and various other places.

On Jan. 4, 1949, Irene was united in marriage to Clarence J. Krebsbach in Minot. In the spring of 1950, they moved to rural Max, where they farmed and ranched with Clarence’s brothers, Leo and Elmer. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the church’s ladies aid.

In 1982, they retired from farming and moved to Minot, where she had since resided. Clarence passed away Feb. 17, 2013.

Irene was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, where she belonged to the Guild of St. Francis and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Polkateers.

Irene took great pride in her home, having a schedule of tasks that were to be done daily. She was very particular and precise on these duties. Irene had a servant’s heart, regularly cleaning, cooking, and serving others.

Irene enjoyed being around her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved playing cards and games with them.

She is survived by: her sons, Steve (Karen) Krebsbach, Fargo, Maury (Sue) Krebsbach, Minot, Alton (Brenda) Krebsbach, Washburn, and Bruce (Jackie) Krebsbach, Coleharbor; grandchildren, Amy (Ryan) Cermak, Sarah (Chris) Hawley, Angie (Chad) Thompson, Kassie (Dusty) Bias, Cody Krebsbach, Mason Krebsbach, Tara (Josh) Haugen, Nick (Gail) Krebsbach, Holly (Domonic) Tognarelli, Chandra (Casey) Flammang, Dessa Krebsbach; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther Vitko, Minot, Alma Schumaier, Auburn, Wash., and Hulda Melhoff, Fargo; brothers, Bert (Alice) Weishaar, of Benedict, and Ervin (Ella) Weishaar, Wahpeton; sisters-in-law, Elsie Weishaar, Turtle Lake, Blanche Weishaar, Dorothy Krebsbach, Evelyn Krebsbach and Alvina Krebsbach, all of Garrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Clarence; brothers, Adolph (Estella) Weishaar, Art Weishaar, Willie (Rena) Weishaar, Albert (Ruby) Weishaar and John Weishaar; brothers-in-law, Joe Vitko, Melvin Melhoff, and John Schumaier.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, May 12, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Today, May 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil prayer service: Today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
