Marjorie Eldred

MOHALL Marjorie Thelma Eldred, 86, Mohall, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at a Minot hospital.

She was born May 20, 1927, in Mohall, to John and Laura (Mahle) Hanson. She was raised in Mohall and Everett, Wash.

Margie married Fred Edward Eldred Jr., on April 28, 1950. She was a stay-at-home Mom raising their three boys: Steve, Michael and Larry. Fred died Nov. 7, 1991.

Margie loved her family and friends, her yearly trips to Everett, Wash., and frequent trips to St. Paul, Minn. She was a self-taught musician. She loved to play her accordion and keyboard, and when she did you could see that twinkle in her eyes. She loved watching sporting events, especially her children’s sporting events. She loved fishing and her Budweiser. Margie never learned to drive and rode her bicycle all over Mohall. She never flew; she took Amtrak for all of her trips. She had a quiet and kind soul; she never assumed anything. She will be greatly missed by all. Margie was a fighter until the very end.

Family: sons, Steve Eldred, Fargo, Larry (Cathy) Eldred, of Everett, Wash., and Mike Eldred, Mohall; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and infant son; sister, Iala Eldred; and brothers, Lloyd and Harlan Hanson.

A private family funeral will be held.

Visitation: Today, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
