Robert ‘Bob’ Donovan
Robert Vernon “Bob” Donovan, 81, Minot, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, in a Mandan hospital, with his family by his side.
Bob was born Feb. 6, 1933, a son of James and Clara (Farnstrom) Donovan, in Minot. He was raised and educated there, graduating from Minot High School in 1951. Following his graduation, Bob worked for the Burlington Northern Railway, where he became an engineer. He also founded an insurance agency in Minot.
Bob married Beverly (Sandy) Irey on Dec. 3, 1975, in Westhope. They made homes in North Dakota and Arizona. Bob is survived by: wife of 38 years, Beverly, Minot; children, Michael, Minot, Patrick (Bonnie), Minot, and Kelly, Kenmare; stepchildren, Richard (Connie) Irey, Lake Metigoshe, Marilyn (Cole Boehler) Irey, Butte, Mont., and Steven (Connie) Irey, Surrey; seven grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and one aunt also survive.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents and siblings, Theresa and Richard.
Funeral service: Wednesday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at Living Word Lutheran Church, 710-46th Ave. NE, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.
