Bosch wins at Nelson Lake
The American Bass Anglers staged their first event of the year May 17 at Nelson Lake. Mandan’s Cory Bosch bested a field of nine boats with a catch of three largemouth bass weighing 13.63 pounds.
According to tournament director Dick Roland, the winning bass were caught on a black swim jig tipped with a Zoom craw trailer. Bosch’s largest bass tipped the scales at 5.27 pounds. First place paid $281.
The biggest largemouth of the day was pulled in by Cody Arth of Bismarck. The fish weighed 5.52 pounds. Arth finished in second place with 11.08 pounds. He was followed by Todd Keena, Baldwin, with 9.54 pounds.
The ABA has nine tournaments scheduled for 2014. The next tour stop is New Johns Lake May 31. The season’s top angler receives an automatic bid to the national ABA Tournament on Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee.
