Christ Lutheran Church of Minot’s “Katie’s Kitchen,” a free soup kitchen: Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 1415-17th Ave. SW.
Minot Horseshoe Club hosts games every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Events will be held at the Minot Moose Lodge horseshoe courts, 400-9th St. SW. Games played Thursdays if Tuesdays rained out. Men and women welcome. Price $35 each. Juniors play free. No teams, all play is individual. The Taube Museum of Art and Roosevelt Park Zoo are partnering for the sixth annual “Run for the Arts” Race on Wednesday, June 4, National Runner’s Day. The partnership with the zoo this year is to provide a new location for the race due to the downtown re-construction project slated to start this summer. The race kicks off the Taube’s Summer Art “Ventures” program and is a family-oriented event for competitive and noncompetitive runners and walkers. Registration starts at 6 p.m. in the zoo auditorium. The 5K Run/Walk will start at 7 p.m., with the Museum Half Mile for children ages 4 to 8 and the Museum Mile for children 8 to 12 immediately following. The route will start and end in the zoo back parking lot. An animal-themed silent auction will be held in the zoo auditorium before, during and after the run. The fundraiser proceeds will be shared between the Taube and the zoo. Registration fees for the 5K are $20 for non-members, $15 for members and $10 for children 12 and younger. Strollers are welcome. Pre-registration is encouraged, but you may register the day of the event. Fees include Run/Walk registration, healthy snacks, door prizes and silk screening your own race t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to top winners in each race. Awards will be presented after all participants have returned to the race start location at the zoo auditorium.

Minot Area Dollars for Scholars is sponsoring a family 5k fun run/walk at Oak Park on June 14. Run day registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The run will begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $20 for individuals and $40 for a family.
