Darrell Gene Johnson, 75, Makoti, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Darrell was born Dec. 29, 1938, at Ryder, the son of Larry and Genevieve (Afdahl) Johnson. He was raised on the family farm in McLean County and educated at country schools near Ryder.
He worked for a Roseglen area farmer for several years before going to work in the construction industry at Schriock Construction of Minot for over 25 years. After retirement, he enjoyed attending auction sales and always looking for a “good deal”!
Darrell was a member of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed auction sales, small engine repair work, along with hunting during his younger years.
His loving family includes, brother, Bruce (Diane) Johnson, Minot; sister, Karen (Joel) Anderson, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Gorlyn Wohlk, Douglas; uncle, Ray Johnson, Mandan; along with several nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Diane Wohlk, and brothers, Loren and Ardell Johnson.
Funeral service: Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Cemetery in Ryder.
Visitation: At the request of the family there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a memorial register book on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to an organization of the donor’s choice.
