Hillary doesn’t get it

Hillary Clinton whined to an interviewer this past week that when she and former President Bill Clinton left the White House in 2001, they were “dead broke.” She explained they “struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education.”

She just doesn’t get it.

There is an enormous difference between being out of work and broke and being out of work and broke – but with a mailbox full of speaking and consulting invitations, some carrying five-figure paychecks for a few hours of effort.

We know the Clintons had a host of ongoing legal issues when they left the White House, and there was obviously cost associated with clearing up those issues.

But the Clintons are now millionaires, – and they knew they would be when they left the White House. For them, it was simply a matter of time until the speaking fees and book deals began rolling in and filling their bank accounts.

They never were really “dead broke,” and were certainly not in the same boat as millions of average Americans struggling to simply surivive from day to day in a tough economy. To this day, millions of Americans know what struggling really means.

Hillary Clinton does not.
