Elaine Korgel, 74, Minot, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Elaine M. Kupser was born July 21, 1939, a daughter of Joseph and Christine (Feist) Kupser in Minot. She was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe and confirmed at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot, where she was a lifelong member. Elaine was raised in the Norwich and Deering area, and graduated from Deering High School. While in high school, she was active in cheerleading and basketball.
On Aug. 19, 1957, Elaine was united in marriage to Doran A. Korgel in Minot. They made their home in the Minot area, where they built a home in 1977. Elaine worked for I. Keating Furniture World and American Lifestyle Furniture. In 1995, she survived a brain aneurism.
Elaine enjoyed shopping, dancing, going to the casino and working in her garden. She had many friends and enjoyed visiting with them at the VFW and Eagles lodge. Doran and Elaine wintered in Arizona and Florida. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, and attended games in Minneapolis and Fort Meyers, Fla.
Elaine loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Missie.
Elaine is survived by: Husband Doran, Minot; sons, Larry Korgel and Kevin Korgel, Minot, and Kurtis Korgel, Ruthville; daughters, Tammy (Greg) Seltveit, Sebring, Fla.; three grandchildren, Tia, Cody and Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Grady, Gus, and Maya; two brothers, Tony (Lois) Kupser, and George (Eliene) Kupser.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and a brother, Daniel.
Visitation: Monday, June 30, 2014, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Monday, June 30, 2014, at 7 p.m., in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 11 a.m., at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
