The Minot State University Summer Theatre group will present “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” directed by Kevin Neuharth, July 18-23, at the MSU Amphitheater. All performances begin at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, $5 for children 12 and under, and $3 for MSU faculty, staff and summer students. The Great Downtown Wing Ding will be held Friday and Saturday, July 11-12. Friday night features a street dance with Frankly Scarlett. Saturday is family fun day with inflatables, kids games, food vendors and talent show on stage all day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A highlight of the day is judging of the best wing sauce contest.

The Minot Area Theatrical Society is looking for people to play roles of characters in a interactive dinner murder mystery where the audience questions the characters (suspects) in order to try to figure out who did it and why. The first meeting will be held July 12 at 6 p.m. at The Vegas Motel in the conference/board room by the pool. Mouse River Players Community Theater will have a fundraising rummage sale July 31-Aug. 2 at The Arlene Theater, 115-1st St. SE. Contributions, other than clothing, are welcome. Call 838-3939 to arrange a drop-off or pick-up time.

The Minot Area Theatrical Society is holding auditions for the play “Elvis Has Left The Building” Aug. 1-2 at The Vegas Motel in the conference/board room by the pool at 6 p.m. If you are not able to make it or have any questions please contact Donald Pitsiladis at 818-4095.

The Minot Coin Club second annual Coin and Collectible show will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sleep Inn and Suites Hotel. Coin dealers from a large area that will be set up to buy and sell coins, currency, tokens, medals and supplies. The event will feature a large daily silent auction, daily door prizes, free gifts for kids 17 and under, a kids only silent auction, free Minot Coin Club Memberships, and an educational slide show that will run all day long.
