Domestic Violence Crisis Center adds rural offices
The Domestic Violence Crisis Center is reaching out to rural residents with offices in Mohall and Kenmare that opened this past spring.
Rene Enders serves the two offices as victim advocate.
Dena Filler, executive director at the crisis center, said an advocate had been traveling to Mohall once a month. The opening of an office provides more service for rural residents who can’t always make the trip to Minot, she said.
Enders provides counseling and referrals and is certified to assist with protection orders.
“We are just trying to have more of a presence in the smaller communities,” Enders said. “Having somebody in the community they see and they can know helps.”
Her office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Mohall and Tuesday and Thursday in Kenmare, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. However, hours may vary depending on circumstances that arise.
People also can call 263-5002 to reach Enders or 1-800-398-1098 in an emergency.
