Elroy Reiswig

Elroy Ben Reiswig, 81, Minot, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his home.

Elroy was born on Jan. 9, 1933, in Lincoln Valley, N.D., the son of Ben and Minnie (Triebwasser) Reiswig. Elroy was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church in Minot. He attended rural school and attended school in McClusky. Elroy entered the United States Navy on March 13, 1953. He was stationed in Cuba and the Virgin Islands and returned to United States where he served in the reserves in New Orleans, La. Elroy was united in marriage to Viola Walker on July 31, 1955, in Turtle Lake. Elroy was honorably discharged on March 12, 1957. After his discharge he returned to McClusky, where he farmed for two years and later moved to Minot, where he worked for a gas station. Elroy went to work for Bridgeman Creamery as a driver, where he worked for over 31 years. Viola passed away on Jan. 22, 2002. While working for Bridgeman Elroy also managed Jefferson Trailer Park and Fairview Lodge Motel. Elroy married Ruth Zietz on Aug. 29, 2003, in Minot.

Elroy was a member of the Moose Lodge and the NW Polkateers.

Jody Reiswig, his wife Allison, Jody’s son Shannon, his wife Jessica and their daughters Alaijah, Mira and Parker, Jody’s daughter Heather, Allison’s daughters Beth and Anna Marie Pons, Minot, N.D., Mark Reiswig Minot, N.D.; daughters, Paula Reiswig, her boyfriend Kyle Hazel, Kyle’s daughters Shelby and Katie, Velva, N.D., Penny Reiswig, her boyfriend Robert Seaman, Penny’s daughter FaLynn, FaLynn’s boyfriend Tyler Meschke and their son Colton, Penny’s son Shane Walter, Shane’s son Sylas, Penny’s daughter Shaylee Walter, Minot; Cindee (Reiswig) Hutchins, her husband Mike and their son Brandon and daughter Keiree, Minot; Ruth (Zietz) Reiswig children, son, Reuben Bauman, his wife Betty and their daughters Toni and Tanya, Minot; daughter, Debbie Bauman, her son Shawn Wick, Missouri, son Gregory and his son Marcus Bauman, Oklahoma, son Stacy Zietz, his wife Dawn and his son Kellan and daughter Miranda, Dawn’s daughter Katie, son Dillon and daughter Hanna, Burlington, N.D., son Scott Zietz, his sons Tyler and Tanner, Scott’s daughter Tiffany, Minot, son Stephen Zietz, his wife Lisa and their son Dustin, Granville, N.D., daughter Shelly Zietz, Shelly’s husband Craig Thompson and their daughter Kelsey, sons Kelby and Kaleb, daughter Kinley and son Kayden. Lehi, Utah; brothers, Lawrence, Bismarck, Sam, McClusky, and Norris, Bismarck, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Minnie Reiswig, infant brother, Ted, and brothers, Clarence and Melvin and sisters, Bertha, Ester, Deloris and Altrude.

Funeral Service: Monday, July 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, July 6, 2014, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Burial: Private interment will take place at a later date.
