He died, with his family by his side, at the age of 57 years on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Trinity Hospital in Minot from a massive brain hemorrhage.

Daniel moved with his family in November 1959 to Modesto, Calif., where he attended nursery school. In January 1980, Danny moved to Fargo where he worked at the Developmental Work Activity Center (DWAC) for 26 years. He lived in a group home there from 1980 to 1989, then lived independently in Fargo until 2005, then moved back to a group home in Fargo. He moved to Minot in December 2007 to live in the group home at 1005-11th Ave. SE and worked at the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop (MVAW, now Kalix) until recent years when his health began to fail.

Danny took great pride in his work and he had a love for taking and being in pictures, collecting aluminum cans for recycling, family activities, especially birthdays and holidays, gift giving and receiving, and talking on the phone to his mom (whom he adored) most every night. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and taking part in the Special Olympics, earning many awards from these.
