Carmen Skalicky

Carmen Skalicky, 41, of Powers Lake, formerly of Warwick, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Carmen Gail Anderson was born July 15, 1972, in Devils Lake, to Bernard and Cherrie Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Warwick Lutheran Church. Carmen attended Warwick and Devils Lake schools, graduating from Devils Lake High School in 1990. She attended Dickinson State University for one year.

Carmen was united in marriage to Lloyd Skalicky Jr. on June 9, 2007, at an outdoor wedding at the Helde farm, rural Powers Lake. They resided in Powers Lake at the time of her death. Carmen worked at the Food Barn in Powers Lake.

Carmen enjoyed crocheting, taking pictures, fishing and camping with family and friends, playing and listening to music and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She had such a soft spot for all animals, but especially for her dog, Pepper, and cat, Shadow.

Carmen is survived by: her husband, Lloyd Jr., Powers Lake; parents, Buzz and Cherrie Anderson, Warwick; brothers, Cory (Lori Frost) Anderson, Warwick, and Kevin (Deanna) Anderson, Devils Lake; sisters, Cathy (Randy) Myrum, Petersburg, and Becky (Mike) Harris, Wofford Heights, Calif.; nieces, Crystal and Kaitlyn Myrum and Jaylee Anderson; nephew, Lance Anderson; uncles, Eldon (Kaz) Anderson, Wendell Anderson; aunt, Marlys (Duane) Mellum; special family members: great-aunt, Averiel Wood and godmother, Arlene Holtz; fathers-in-law, Lloyd Skalicky Sr. and Donald Helde; sister-in-law, Jean Velo; brothers-in-law, James and Tommy Skalicky; numerous Skalicky nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her paternal grandparents, Caroll and Ardath Anderson; maternal grandparents, Jim and Cherry Monson; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Helde.

Her funeral service is scheduled: Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Powers Lake.

Burial will be at: Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Powers Lake.

Visitation will be: Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to service time, at the church.
