Welcome to the State Fair
Today is the big day, the start of another North Dakota State Fair, a fair that began in 1922 and officially deemed “the” state fair by the Legislature in 1965.
Closed caption to those new to the area – you don’t want to miss this.
It’s hard to imagine Minot’s street traffic any busier than we’ve become accustomed to in this booming city. But that is sure to happen with such a strong lineup of entertainment booked for this year’s fair – Lady Antebellum, John Mellencamp, and Florida Georgia Line to name just a few. So be extra cautious driving, biking or walking around Minot during fair week.
Besides the entertainers who have never performed in Minot, there are other new experiences waiting for fair-goers, perhaps most notably in the fair food offerings.
Want to try steak fritters, or deep fried mac and cheese? How about bacon kuchen or pulled pork nachos? Then take a spin on the baddest ride on the midway or a walk through the barns.
Maybe not, for some; probably not for most. At least not in that order.
Perhaps a cold rootbeer and a chair in a shady spot from which to spy on all of the activity around that is the 2014 North Dakota State Fair.
They’ve got that covered too. Great. Big. Fun.
