Troy Hall, 37, Minot, formerly of Dickinson, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Troy Douglas Hall was born Feb. 1, 1977, a son of Douglas and Randi (Jesperson) Hall, in Dickinson. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1995. He attended Minot State University.
Troy was united in marriage to Angela Froseth on June 15, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev. They made their home in Minot, where Troy was employed at the Sleep Inn. Together they had a daughter, Hanna. They divorced in 2013.
Troy began working as a landman for Legacy Resources Inc., which operates out of Bismarck. He most recently worked on landowner relations for Legacy Resources and its principal clients.
Troy’s happiest times were those spent with his daughter, Hanna. She was his pride and joy and the light of his life. He was a wonderful father. They enjoyed doing many activities together, like playing with dolls, Barbies and having tea parties. They also loved camping with family at Devils Lake.
Troy was very active. He played pool league out of Sidekicks Lounge for the past 10 years. His team took second in the Extravaganza Tournament last year, their best team accomplishment. Troy had many top three finishes in individual competitions. He made many friendships while playing pool. He learned to golf from his grandparents at a young age, and he had become an avid golfer. Fishing with his father and friends in his new boat was also a favorite pastime. He loved to watch hockey, especially the UND Fighting Sioux. Troy was a member of the Minot Moose Lodge, where he met many wonderful friends.
Troy is survived by: daughter, Hanna, Minot; parents, Douglas and Randi Hall, Minot; siblings, Stephanie (Eric) Sandberg, Grand Forks, and Erica (Travis) Graber, Rugby; nephew and niece, Logan and Sydnee Sandberg, Grand Forks; maternal grandparents, Norman and Bonnie Jesperson, Dickinson; aunts and uncles, Brian (Jane) Jesperson, Bismarck, Kent (Linette) Jesperson, Cheyenne, Wyo., Beth (Curt) Kainz, Galesburg, Karlin (Roy) Teigland, Savage, Minn., Diane Whiting, St. Charles, Mo., Donald (Paulette) Hall, Liverpool, N.Y., Donna Hall, Fort Collins, Colo., and Debby (Eric) Stuhler, St. Charles, Mo. Numerous cousins also survive.
Troy was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Guy and Virginia Hall, and an uncle, Jimmy Jesperson.
Memorial Service: Friday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Burial: A private family committal service will take place at a later date.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however, friends may sign a guest register on Thursday, July 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
